MetroOne was thrilled to present its Professional Development Seminar: Critical Workplace Competencies Tuesday, March 29. Participants were able to sharpen their networking skills, strengthen leadership skills and enhance their knowledge of technology. Dr. Cynthia Tori, the Keynote Speaker, gave the 2011 economic forecast for young professionals that emphasized the importance of following economic trends. Effective Communication: Putting Your Best Foot Forward

Personal impressions are formed based upon the way we write and speak. Whether positive or negative impressions are formed depend upon whether we communicate correctly and effectively. Since written methods are used to a greater degree in today’s business transactions, this session will focus primarily on written communication skills. This session will also offer pointers to assist in developing effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
